How long does tour generation take?
Usually 5–10 minutes. The app will notify you when it's ready — you can lock your screen or switch to another app while you wait.
Why isn't a waypoint triggering while I drive?
Make sure location access is set to Always in iOS Settings → Waifarer → Location. The app needs background location access to detect waypoints with the screen off. Also check that the tour map screen is open before you start driving.
Can I play waypoints manually?
Yes — tap any pin on the map to play that stop immediately, regardless of your location.
What is "Where am I?"
The "Where am I?" button on the tour map generates on-demand narration for your exact current location — useful for spontaneous detours or places not covered by your tour's waypoints.
How do I delete a tour?
On the home screen, swipe left on any tour in My Tours and tap Delete. This removes it from your device. Tours on the server can be deleted from the Available section.
Does the app work offline?
Once a tour is downloaded, audio playback and GPS triggering work fully offline. Generating new tours and "Where am I?" require an internet connection.
What routes are supported?
Any driveable route — Waifarer generates content for anywhere, not just famous highways. Enter any origin and destination and it will build a tour from scratch.
